| Vegetarians
refrain from eating the flesh of animals. Some vegetarians also
refrain from eating byproducts of animals. An ovo-vegetarian refrains
from dairy, but will consume eggs that are an unfertilized byproduct
of chickens. A lacto-ovo-vegetarian will consume both eggs and
dairy. The benefit of vegetarianism plays a strong role in today’s
saturated chemical meat market. Vegetarians benefit also from
consuming more vegetables and fruits.
Some
become vegetarians for different reasons. The obvious one is the
inhumane treatment of animals. Many people do not stop to think
about how their chicken got to the table. Was the chicken quite
stressed when it was slaughtered? Could it actually have feelings?
Did it live in inhumane conditions? Does it matter? How many antibiotics
did a cow recieve to keep it upright until it got to slaughter?
Was it in pain?
Eating
live food is essential for cells that desire to live. At least
some of your food should be raw. The question might beome, "how
long do you expect an live organism to live a qualitiy life on
dead food?" There are many advantages to eating some raw
food. Natural fiber of the vegetables and fruits benefit the digestive
system. Many of the nutrients found in fruits and vegetables can
be damaged with heat. Since our soils are already depleted of
many of the essential nutrients, this can beome even more important.
Fruits
and vegetables have a higher frequency range than processed food,
meats, and chemical foods. Many who seek a spiritual journey will
refer to the idea of raising their vibrations will improve their
spiritual growth. Even those of traditional religions will recognize
that our bodies house our "soul". We should then be
conscious of what tools we provide for it. |
